Mayor of Manukau City, Mr. Len Brown, visited the Pacific Area Office of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints today as a guest of Pacific Area President, Elder Tad R. Callister.
The Mayor toured the four-storey facility in Takapuna where the Church runs its building, humanitarian and other programs for the Pacific region.
“Mayor Brown was a delight to be with," said Elder Callister.
"He is personable, he asked thoughtful questions with a genuine desire to know more about the Church and its operations in the Auckland area, and he was anxious to ‘synergize’ our efforts wherever we could, particularly with regard to humanitarian and service-oriented projects.”
A children's choir sang "I am a child of God" to the Mayor upon his arrival.
